Warning for Zoom users
India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information (MeitY) has started informing all Zoom users in India about these flaws. The ministry claimed that by exploiting a vulnerability in the Zoom app, hackers could secretly enter any meeting without the knowledge of other attendees. If it happens that hackers access a lot of personal information of users during a Zoom conference, they can use this information later.
Indian cyber security agency CERT-In has now encouraged Indian users to download the upgraded version of this software as soon as possible. Zoom has already warned its customers about this risk.
This video meeting platform has three security vulnerabilities identified by both Zoom and CERT-in as CVE-2022-28758, CVE-2022-28759, and CVE-2022-28760. The server process of the Zoom on-premises meeting connector feature is where these bugs are actually coming from and can have an immediate negative impact on users.

Update the app as soon as possible
The Indian government has advised users to update the desktop version of the Zoom app as soon as possible. Although the mobile version doesn’t have that problem, an update would be nice. According to the cyber security agency, users are advised to get the latest updates for every version, including mobile and desktop, keeping online security in mind. I am explaining how to install Zoom update on different devices.
After turning on Zoom on their Windows or MacBook, Zoom users on PC and Mac need to click on their profile picture to update. Then, after you click the Check for Updates button that appears, Zoom will immediately download and install the latest version on your desktop. Mobile users can use Google Play Store for Android devices and Apple App Store for iOS devices to check and install the latest upgrades.
