WhatsApp won’t bring a feature or two, blocking contacts will be easier, beta users will get the benefit

New Delhi. WhatsApp has many features, which prevent users from sharing shared information with certain contacts. Apart from this, the app allows users to control who can see their status updates and profile details. Users can also see if their shared messages have been read or not. Not only this, users can also block any of their contacts. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the company is working on improving a contact blocking feature in the app.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on adding two new ways to block a contact to its app. Until now users had to open chat to block any contact. For this, they need to go to the private chat and tap on the contact’s name and then scroll down and tap on block. But now the company is coming up with two new ways to block someone.

First, WhatsApp will give you the option to block someone in the chat list. The blog site wrote on their blog that it allows users to block any contact without opening a chat. On the other hand, if a user receives a message from an unknown number, even in such cases users will be able to block the chat without opening it.

The feature has started for selected beta users
The blog site said the company has started rolling out the feature to some select beta users. It will be available in version 2.23.2.10 of the WhatsApp beta app for Android users, though the report does not mention the feature for the iOS app. So it is not hard to guess that this feature will also be available for iOS users when it is officially released.

Voice note sharing
Meanwhile WhatsApp has allowed voice notes to be updated as status. This new feature of WhatsApp was available for testing since September last year. This feature allows users to share voice notes on status updates. Users will be able to share this voice note with selected people through privacy settings
