New Delhi. Massachusetts-based company Boston Dynamics has released a video of its humanoid robot Atlas. In the video, the robot showed some skills, which surprised everyone. The video released by Boston Dynamics shows the robot moving objects around it from one place to another and picking up wooden planks lying in the path of the fake construction site.
According to the company, the robot is inspired by industrial and construction work. It can move objects of various sizes, materials and weights. The humanoid robot also performed a 540-degree multi-axis flip with precision in the video. It can lift and hold anything as well as hold it easily. With this power, Atlas becomes closer to humans than ever before.

Ben Steffes, head of Atlas Control, said the new video initially looked a little different from previous videos, less flashy and more functional, but that it represented a natural progression of ongoing research on the new move.
Still work to do
Stephens said they are still a long way from bipedal robots that can work side-by-side with humans. Manipulation is a broad category and we still have a lot of work to do. However, it gives a glimpse of where we are headed. This is the future of robotics.

On its website, Boston Dynamics says, ‘Atlas’ advanced control system and state-of-the-art hardware provide the robot with strength and balance to demonstrate human-level agility.’ It has previously been highlighted that if a robot could develop the same speed and flexibility as an average adult, the range of possible applications would be virtually limitless.
