New Delhi. WhatsApp has announced a new proxy feature on its platform for its global users. With this feature, users can use the app even when internet service is down in their area. Also, if WhatsApp itself is blocked. Still with this new feature users can use the app and message people.
I want to make it clear to you here that it is very important to have internet nearby to use this feature. That is, even if the internet service is available, its access is blocked for you. That is, if you are stuck in a jungle and have no internet access nearby, you won’t be able to use the app with a proxy.
Privacy will not be affected
WhatsApp has clearly stated in its blog that if you are unable to access WhatsApp directly, you have access to proxies set up by volunteers and organizations that help people communicate safely and freely. App will have an option to connect server using proxy server will not affect privacy and security. Your messages will be end-to-end encrypted.
If you have a situation where you have internet access, the internet is blocked. So you can check any trusted source through social media or search engine, which has created proxies. Then all you have to do is go to your app and go to Storage and Data > Proxy and paste that link and connect.
